— Overview
What Political Risk does.
Political Risk scores all 195 countries from three World Bank governance indicators: political stability, voice and accountability, and rule of law. The score runs 0–100, higher meaning riskier. Each country shows that score, its nine-dimension sovereign composite and a trend marker against the prior year's indicators, and links to the full country profile.
Next to the scores is a live risk-news feed drawn from GDELT's global news index, cached for about an hour. Each headline is tagged by country and credited to its outlet, with a link to the original story. If GDELT is unavailable, the feed says so and shows clearly labelled sample headlines instead of passing them off as news.
The module is a screen and an early warning, not a forecast. It helps contractors, lenders and investors see where the political setting is getting worse or better before that shows up in spreads or in stalled tenders.

The core of Political Risk, as it works inside the platform today.
All-country political-risk scores
A 0–100 score for every country from World Bank governance indicators (political stability, voice and accountability, rule of law), colour-banded and sortable.
Political vs. sovereign, side by side
Each row shows the political score next to the sovereign composite, so you can spot countries where the two diverge.
Trend markers
An up, down or flat marker shows how the score moved against the prior year of World Bank governance data.
Live risk-news feed

— Questions
Frequently asked.
Is the news feed real-time?
Near enough. Headlines come from GDELT and are cached for about an hour. It is a screen, not a full newswire, so read the linked story for detail. If GDELT is down, the feed shows labelled sample headlines and says the live feed is unavailable.
Does a rising trend mean risk is going up?
The marker shows direction of movement in the score. Read it with the score itself and the country profile.
Does this replace sanctions screening?
No. Political-risk scores are country context. To screen a person or company, members use the Sanctions screening tool, which checks OFAC, UN, EU and UK lists.
